As Executive Producer of Living
Large, the Heartland
Business Roundtable, Rides
That Rock, Inside The Boardroom and a key marketing
executive at the nation's fourth largest broadcaster,
Andrew Ellenberg is driven to create compelling specialized
programming and marketing communications programs
custom tailored to distinct consumer segments on News
Radio 980 KMBZ, Classical 1660 KXTR and 610 Sports
KCSP.
Having launched the first home design and lifestyle
show since News Radio 980 KMBZ first signed on more
than 80 years ago and the first business show during
Classical 1660 KXTR's 40-year heritage, Ellenberg’s
new programming vision allows business leaders to
showcase their expertise on the radio while adding
value to the on-air content.
Ellenberg's innovative business model has been so
successful that Living Large was recently expanded
to an hour long edition of the newsmagazine on nationally
respected News Radio 980 KMBZ, adding Karen Mills--the
host he recruited--to an all-star line up that includes
John Dempsey, Ellen Schenk, Darla Jaye, Rush Limbaugh,
Bill O'Reilly, Mike Shanin and Toby Tobin.
Ellenberg has a 20-year track record as a product
development hit maker with an entrepreneurial management
style that relies on a broad skill set combining disciplined
strategic thinking with a fresh creative approach
to sales, marketing, advertising, public speaking,
publicity and media.
Ellenberg has helped to create self-funding businesses,
products, programs and initiatives within other large
organizations including ABC Radio and Bloomberg Financial
Media. His career accomplishments include playing
an instrumental role in the launch of America’s
first all financial radio provider, eventually taking
dominant market share from the Wall Street Journal
Radio Network and creating the business model for
Bloomberg InvestorPhone, syndicating financial updates
to GTE
AirFone which was later acquired by Verizon.
In addition to reaching half the world’s business
travelers with financial updates on the fly, Ellenberg
was the brains and brawn behind Bloomberg.com, arguably
the top independent financial portal on the web. He
has since leveraged his expertise in digital media
to launch multimedia newsmagazines on kxtr.com for
both Living Large, The Heartland Business Roundtable
and Rides That Rock.
Ellenberg is also known for his cause related marketing
initiatives. He recently formed a series of strategic
alliances to launch
Hearts on Patrol, a high-profile cause related
marketing initiative that is raising money for heart
defibrillators in patrol cars with funding from local
sponsors to put media muscle behind the health awareness
program on Entercom’s airwaves and helped to
raise over $100,000 for the American Diabetes Association.
Ellenberg spearheaded the launch of the Partnership
for a Drug Free America on KRBZ 96.5 the Buzz
with benefit concerts following T-Bones Baseball games
at the Community America Ballpark backed by youth
development organization Generation Relevant and popular
local bands.
In a separate initiative, he was the driving force
behind Rock the Vote on the business side in the last
presidential election in Kansas City. Ellenberg formed
a coalition of financial support from local businesses
to fund a community outreach and integrated communications
effort that convinced tens of thousands of young people
to have their voice heard in Washington by registering
to vote.
Ellenberg is nationally recognized for his strategic
alliances, channel partnerships and radio creative
that connects with listeners on an emotional level
to make the cash register ring for marketers. He has
received awards for excellence in broadcasting from
the New York State Broadcasters Association and other
respected media organizations. Ellenberg graduated
with a BA in Journalism from the University of Arizona
in 1987.
